carl pope-God Grant Us the Wisdom to Act in Time

Dear Mr. Pope (Executive Director of the Sierra Club)*,

I first saw your article in the
Huffington Post, and being a fellow environmentalist and an Iranian, who follows Iranian affairs closely, was naturally disconcerted to read the following:

“I am struck by the varied journeys that brought people here to contemplate the fate of the climate. There is, for example,
Massoumeh Ebtekar (Mr. Pope's link), one of the Iranian students who seized the US Embassy, and later became Minister of the Environment in the Khatami government. Now serving on the Teheran City Council, she watches as the current Iranian government, filled with hardliners, tries to roll back Khatami's environmental legacy.”

I was wondering, if it is not inconvenient for you, whether you could enlighten me on what you call Mullah Khatami’s “environmental legacy”, a legacy which, in your opinion, the “current” Islamist “government” is rolling back?

Meantime, I very respectfully ask that you enlighten yourself on Ebtekar’s criminal legacy, as a gun wielding Islamist terrorist and a member of a murderous Islamist criminal organization (or “government” if you prefer) since its establishment 28 years ago.

Sincerely yours,
Khorshid (The name I use on non-Persian websites)
