Some pictures (here and here) from the “Nowrooz” celebration at Vasona Lake County Park, Los Gatos, California. You will not see an Iranian flag here, symbolizing an outright rejection of the “revolution” of Khomeini and his cohorts, nor indeed any recognition of the actual state of affairs in Iran and what has been happening there for the past 28 years, but that is because “Nowrooz is a non-political event”, and as that argument goes, calling oneself Iranian yet covering up the atrocities against the history and people of Iran is being non-political!

Thus the presence of a booth (no less) by the well-funded Islamic Republican sympathizers operating as “leftists” and “peace activists”, with a sign shouting “Get Out of Iraq-Stay Out of Iran!” in red, is not only very much in keeping with this keep-it-non-political rule, but also very much part of the Nowrooz tradition! After all, in the immortal words of Ayatollah Khomeini, we’ve been the victim of American imperialism for 2500 years!
