Here’s the shameless WILLIAM O. BEEMAN again (use the blog’s search engine for previous references), drooling over the prospect of a thaw in US-Islamist Republic relations. Of course, he avoids the term “Islamic Republic” like the plague (and rightly so, given his objective) and calls its officials, undoubtedly the true representatives of a people they’ve imprisoned, tortured, murdered and stoned to death for the past 27 years, “Iranians” instead, but such deception is essential to his thesis that "Iranians" have been in a state of GHAHR (sulking/ not on speaking terms) and feel resentment towards the United States. That thesis requires that you NOT distinguish between the Iranian people and their oppressors.
